Asus EEE PC T91 Features Full Touchscreen and Weights For Only Two Pounds
Posted by: | CommentsThe Asus EEE PC T91 is the first tablet netbook by ASUS with full touchscreen feature and is already available in the US market now. Broadly, touchscreen tablets are an off-repeated combination of excitement and disappointment in many ways. Mostly what’s out there are great ideas with mediocre hardware, mix it with sleek and modern shape, but very bad execution of the touchscreen feature. Let?s see if the T91 would be able to sidestep these issues. The T91 is a compact little machine and has a pretty attractive physical appearance. It weights only two pounds including the lithium polymer battery with a thickness of only an inch. The LCD can swivel to the left and move quite smoothly, giving a sturdy feeling about the netbook. The 8. 9-inch EEC PC T91 provides a small and standard keyboard that allows surprisingly easy and efficient typing. The machine is certainly compact but not cramped and features a nice clickness. The backlit LED resistive touch panel of this machine is considerably bright and good looking, though, at the same time, its very glossy and takes fingerprint easily. It boasts two USB, one VGA, and two audio ports, and a power button on the screen?s left bottom edge. There is another button directly to the right of the power button, which is one of the means of activating the touch interface. Moreover, it has a flexible stylus fitted under the bottom right side of the main body. When it comes about the specs of T91, it has an Intel Atom Z520 1. 33 GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, 16GB SSD, Intel GMA500 graphics and a lithium polymer battery that offers 5 hours of constant backup. Other than that, it also features 802. 11 B/G/N Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2. 1 plus EDR and 10/100Mbps Ethernet. To get the touchscreen appropriately responsive, the Asus EEE PC T91 comprises an easy, 9-point calibration procedure and also loaded with some custom-built software called Touch Gate interface. The touchscreen interface can be activated from the usual XP desktop in three different ways- via the desktop icon, the slider icon on the top of the desktop and a physical button located right to the power toggle. Hitting any of those will bring up the main Asus Touch Gate interface which is basically a very simple row or different icons that can be reorganized in any order. Memos and Notepad is pretty self explanatory without plenty of whistles and bells, but the applications work very much efficiently. The touchscreen is quite responsive and calibrated to both fingertip and stylus, so the notes can be made with actual handwriting after getting a little used to with the process. Clicking your finger left to the Touch Gate interface, it will appear a screen called ‘Widget Screen” which comes with many pre-installed and customizeable widgets from Yahoo. Overall, the software with the EEE PC T91 is designed really nicely and operates pretty good as advertised. Still, there are few limitations with the CPU and the responsive touchscreen, we had to move slower than we usually want to.
The Asus Eee Series Laptop Review
Posted by: | CommentsNow it’s official. ASUS is currently the market leader when it comes to netbooks / mini-notebooks. Since the beginning of the line of ASUS Eee PC, has been a fixture on the bestseller list. Thanks to the opportunity and perspective, would be one of the first series netbook market, while the computing world by storm. It allows for a closer look at 3 of the hottest models in this area.
ASUS Eee PC 1008HA Seashell:
One of the biggest complaints of netbooks from ASUS is that it seems that manufacturers have little or no attention to the aesthetics of the device. Until the beginning of the 1008HA, the netbook sports a full range of simple, unadorned (and most boring) design.
The 1008HA is the answer to all styles of consumers out there. To put it simply, this model is simply wonderful! In the closed state of the thickest part is at the center and tapers at the sides. It is very sinuous and has a glossy exterior. It has 1000HE similar information except it has less battery life (6 hours), no Bluetooth, and battery not replaceable. It’s a bit more expensive than usual, but I think the slim, attractive design makes it worth every penny.
ASUS Eee PC 1000HE:
This model is now probably the best netbook on the market. It has some of the most robust data and better features. Powered by an Intel Atom N20 (1. 66 GHz), 1GB of RAM and 160 GB in the camps. One of the highlights of this model is extended battery life. The manufacturers claim that they can take up to 9. 5 hours is a single charge. During testing, I could get 8 hours after using the class. It also has a Bluetooth link.
Asus Eee PC 1000HA:
This model is a low-end version of 1000HE. It is powered by the Intel Atom N270 (1. 6GHz) and has a 160 GB hard disk. It has 802. 11b / g connection (instead of a 802. 11b/g/n) and do not come with Bluetooth. It has a small 7-hour battery. This model also proved a good buy for those looking to get a netbook not simple ornaments.

My Thoughts regarding the yet to be released Asus EEE Keyboard PC
Posted by: | CommentsLets first begin with its specs, it’s A full computer built into a QWERTY keyboard, as well as Ultrawideband HDMI and WiFi b/g/n, it also has a 5-inch touchscreen for shortcuts, media browsing and use as a virtual mouse. Hardware wise the EEE Keyboard PC cosists of an Intel Atom 1. 6GHz processor, 1GB of memory and either 16GB or 32GB SSD storage, I have read that their may be a lower model released, I am unsure about the differences between models as of yet, I guess we will have to wait until Asus Actually release their EEE Desktop PC before we will know for sure. From what I have seen and read, using the built-in 5″ touchscreen you have access to a menu in which you can access calendar, photo gallery, media player and an internet browser, there are also simple usability apps such as a calculator, alarm clock and system info. On the back the all-in-one “pc-in-a-keyboard” you will find at least two USB 2. 0, HDMI, VGA, wired ethernet and audio in/out (as well as having an integrated microphone and speakers). Now I’m pretty impressed with what i have read and what i have seen thus far, However there is one thing that has my brain going 100 Miles an hour, I am not sure if ASUS have decided upon a specific OS they plan to release with the KeyBoard PC, however there are videos and demo’s you can find on youtube that show it running with Windows XP, and also another Showing the Asus EEE Keyboard PC running with Intel’s Moblin Netbook OS, this is the configuration i would prefer to see, I can’t really complain That much about Windows XP, however such a device should really be using either its own modified version of linux or a cut down version of linux, Which in my opinion would be a more sensible choice. However i do not work for ASUS, Nor do i get a say in what OS they will install on their EEE Keyboard PC, so we will have to wait until Asus either release the EEE Keyboard PC, or atleast release another statement regarding the release of the product. I have been a bit frustrated with peoples comments i have seen around regarding the EEE Keyboard PC, the main one that i have notices is people saying things similar to “Commodore International did this in the eighties, PC’s inside Keyboards aren’t new, ASUS just found a way to “reinvent” the idea. . Whats Next? Are ASUS going to “reinvent” the Floppy disc?”. I understand where such comments are coming from, Yes Commodore International did release a computer back in 1982 which was built into the keyboard, and it was rather successful (i believe over 30 million sales) but you cannot compare that to the Asus EEE Keyboard PC in any way shape or form, im sorry but you simply cannot compare a 1. 8KG horrid Creame box that was over 40cm wide 20cm long and 8cm’s high (Not to mention the 1mhz processor and 64k of ram) to a nice sleek looking keyboard that isn’t too “out there” or “huge” and comes with a 1. 6Ghz Atom processor 1GB of Ram and all the other features. I for one cannot wait to get my hands on one of these babies, will surely come in hand around the home and office, i might even look at rolling these out to my staff aswell as they always seem to run out of desk space due to the oversize desktop pcs they are currently using. Read the Original Article & Much more at my ASUS EEE Keyboard PC Site. Once the Asus EEE Keyboard PC is released i will be purchasing one straight away so i can give my readers a proper full review of the product.
