Installed 4 GB DDR2-6400 RAM, 320GB 5400 RPM HDD, and Windows 7 64-bit. Updated NVIDIA drivers on ION to date, and I must say, the system is perfectly capable. Peppi much compared to single-core Acer Revo 1600, I went back because of his terrible performance in basic tasks. I dare say this Asus EeeBox EB1012 is beefy enough to be a car every day. I overclocked to 1.8 GHz, 2.0 GHz could groped in the future. SPDIF works great. I connected to a 720p projector andThe results are very encouraging. Asus also support VESA so you can mount this thing on the back of the monitor, if desired. Just in case you're wondering, my system is Windows Experience Index in Win7 64 is:
CPU: 3.3 (1.6 GHz and 1.8 GHz, the same score)
Memory: 4.4
Windows Aero: 4.3
Gaming graphics: 5.3
Hard Disk: 5.4
A couple of hiccups:
Although before I run a 64bit operating system, the system recognizes 4GB of RAM, but it shows only 3 GB is usable.Odd.
I According to the latest version of VLC and XBMC, but for some reason, these two files do not play as smoothly as 720P MKV Media Player Classic. I had the impression that everyone has GPU acceleration? HULU high but quality is good. I probably need to tinker with a little 'more.
Third blue colored LEDs are very annoying in a dark room. should resolve some tape to know that
After all, if you have RAM and HDD around, this is agreat way to use cheap and still have very capable and dedicated HTPC / Server / PC day.
